Parents Reading Tips

Parents, we are living in a world in which reading is so important. Reading is a vital link in the process of life, and as parents, it is your responsibility to ensure that the youth of today is prepared to become the adults of tomorrow.

A little effort can go a long way. That same principle also implies to reading. Your encouragement and determination will definitely have a lasting impact on a child.

It is your mission to make sure your child reads everyday! Here are some simple things you can do to make reading more enjoyable:

Read to your child at least 30 minutes a day.
Let your child read to you.
Let your child see you read; set a good example.
Take your child to a bookstore and buy him or her books and magazines.

Use visual aids and encouragement tools such as "Marky Mac" to help motivate your child to read.

Visit your child's school and talk to the teachers about your child's reading performance.

Enroll your child into a book club or an after-school reading program.

Simple ideas, yet the ideas can be very challenging. But it is worth the effort to see a young child open a book and read with satisfaction.  If you have any additional reading tips, please submit them.
